Quick Reference Guide for Scorpius-22 keypad

Thank you for purchasing the Scorpius 22 keypad. This keypad is generally used with desktop PC or Notebook PC. There are two types of usages of this keypad when it connects the host keyboard. One is “NumLock Independent” the other one is “NumLock Dependent”.

I.    Keypad Features:

1.   Fully compatible with IBM PC XT/AT for R versions (or PS/2 for P version, PS/2 & AT for PA version, USB version).

2.   Operates as an additional keypad (or as a small stand alone numeric pad in DOS or Windows environments).

II.    System Requirements:

In order to use your Keypad, you must have the following equipment and software:

1.    IBM PC XT/AT or 100% compatible.

2.    DOS 3.3 or later version. (also operates under Windows3.X or later version)

3.    At least 64K bytes of memory.

4.    RS-232C serial interface port. (for R version only)

5.    One 3 ½’ floppy disk driver. (for R version only)

V. Hardware Installation

1.    For R version, plug the female D type 9pin keypad cable connector into the RS-232 port. (COM1&COM2)

2.    For A & P versions, plug the connector into the keyboard port.

3.    For USB versions, plug the connector into the USB port.

VI. Software Installation

1.    Turn on your computer and run either Windows Ò3.1/95.

2.    Insert the ComPort Keypad setup disk into drive A (or B).

3.    Choose “Run” from the “Start” menu.

4.   Windows Ò3.1/95 setup procedure.

(a). Windows 3.1

In the “Run” dialog, type “A:\Win31 9X\SETUP.EXE” or “B:\ Win31 9X\SETUP.EXE” and click the “OK” button.

(b). Windows 95

In the “Run” dialog, type “A\SETUP.EXE” or “B:\ SETUP.EXE” and click the “OK” button.

5.    The ComPort Keypad setup program will start.

6.    Follow the setup program’s on-screen instructions.

7.   After successfully installing the software, you will be asked to re-start the computer. Please select “OK” to re-start the computer. It is necessary to re-boot your computer before running the keypad software.

Note:

The scorpius 22R version had function key operation. To use the function keys such as F1, F2,…F12, just press and hold down the ‘Fn’ key located on the upper-right-hand corner, and then type the desired function key.
