Installation

In order for the USB Smart Office keyboard to function properly, first install the build-in Windows USB device drivers, and then install the KeyMaestro Input Device Driver.

The USB device driver is included in Windows system.

When the first time you plug in the USB keyboard, the system will automatically detect a new hardware connected and then bring up the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialogue box. Please follow the Wizard's USB driver installation steps. Once this installation step is completed the basic functions of the keyboard will work under the operating system. You may toggle the NumLock or CapsLock key to see if the LED is lit correspondently, and thus to know the keyboard works well.

If there is no USB port available, please plug in the "USB to PS/2 adaptor" in the package. Once the adaptor is plugged in, the system can support Windows® 95 and Windows® NT4.0 system.

You may refer to the following steps to install the "KeyMaestro Input Device Driver".  

After installing the USB device driver and make sure that the keyboard is recognized by the operating system.

  1. Insert the CD labeled "KeyMaestro Input Device Driver" into your CD-ROM drive.

  2. Open File Explorer to find "SetupKey.exe" from the disk.

  3. Double-click the "SetupKey.exe".

  4. Then follow the screen instruction to install the driver. The default installed path is set to c:\Program Files\KMaestro. You have the option to change the install path during setup.

  5. When all setup procedures are finished, the operating system does not need to restart. The driver is loaded when you see the driver icon show on the taskbar (lower right corner of the screen).

Uninstallation

Please note that you have to uninstall the driver first if you want to re-install the driver. This uninstallation only can remove the "KeyMaestro Input Device Driver" from your system.

  1. Right-click the driver icon and select "Exit" command to exit the driver program.

  2. Click "Start" menu (on the left-bottom taskbar).

  3. Move cursor to "Programs" in "Start" menu.

  4. Move cursor again to "KeyMaestro".

  5. Select "Uninstallation".

  6. Click "Yes" to confirm you want to uninstall.
