KeyMaestro Input Device Driver

Congratulations on your purchase of this USB Smart Office Keyboard!  This unique keyboard brings you to a totally free and comfortable field.  It contains health concept of minimal mouse movement and the ergonomics design. 

The whole keyboard is divided into 6 blocks except the normal keyboard function block.   The 6 blocks are Office Application Keys Block, Enhanced Function Keys Block, Internet Keys Block, Application Keys Block, Multimedia Keys Block and Clipboard Keys Block.  These 6 blocks make your keyboard more powerful than ever.  The applications and functions you use everyday are included in these blocks.  Just by a touch can access to your application immediately.  It helps a lot in your daily usage.

The most creative design of this Smart Office keyboard is to use the build-in Office & clipboard hot keys, and the scroll wheel on the keyboard to help you saving hands-movement between keyboard and mouse and this save your time.  We want to make your typing time more fast, comfortable and joyful.

This Smart Office Keyboard is compatible with Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows2000 or Windows XP.

In order to enjoy the full potentiality of the Smart Office Keyboard, please read this manual carefully.

Hardware Installation

  1. Plug the keyboard connector into the keyboard USB port of your PC. 
    (If there is no USB port available, please use the "USB to PS/2 adaptor in the package.)
  2. Start your PC, your computer will auto-detect your keyboard.

Software Installation

After finishing the hardware installation as described in this manual and starting up your PC, you should be able to immediately take advantage of this Smart Office Keyboard within its main keyboard function.

In order for the USB smart Office keyboard to function properly, first install the build-in Windows USB device drivers, and then install the KeyMaestro Input Device Driver.

The USB device driver is included in Windows system.

When the first time you plug in the USB keyboard, the system will automatically detect a new hardware connected and then bring up the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialogue box. Please follow the Wizard's USB driver installation steps. Once this installation step is completed the basic functions of the keyboard will work under the operating system. You may toggle the NumLock or CapsLock key to see if the LED is lit correspondently, and thus to know the keyboard works well.

If there is no USB port available, please plug in the "USB to PS/2 adaptor" in the package. Once the adaptor is plugged in, the system can support Windows® 95 and Windows® NT4.0 system.

You may refer to the following steps to install the "KeyMaestro Input Device Driver".  

After installing the USB device driver, please  make sure that the keyboard is recognized by the operating system.

  1. Insert the CD labeled "KeyMaestro Input Device Driver" into your CD-ROM drive.

  2. Open File Explorer to find "SetupKey.exe" from the CD.

  3. Double-click the "SetupKey.exe".

  4. Then follow the screen instruction to install the driver. The default installed path is set to c:\Program Files\KMaestro. You have the option to change the install path during setup.

  5. When all setup procedures are finished, the operating system does not need to restart. The driver is loaded when you see the driver icon show on the taskbar (lower right corner of the screen).

Uninstallation

Please note that you have to uninstall the driver first if you want to re-install the driver.

  1. Right-click the driver icon  on the taskbar and select "Exit" command to exit the driver program.

  2. Click "Start" menu (on the left-bottom taskbar).

  3. Move cursor to "Programs" in "Start" menu.

  4. Move cursor again to "KeyMaestro".

  5. Select "Uninstallation".

  6. Click "Yes" to confirm you want to uninstall.

 

Hot Key Blocks Feature

Enhanced function keys block consists of 12 enhanced Office keys, they share with the keys of F1~F12 for 12 keys block. This dual function block is toggled by pressing the Office Wizard keystar.gif (1892 bytes) on the upper right corner of your keyboard. When Office Wizard LED is on, the enhanced Office keys are activated.

F1: Help

opens the Help file for the active window.

F2: New

creates a new, blank file in program.

Note: In Spanish, Portuguese and Brazil Windows, F2 function is designed for "Bold".

F3: Open

opens or finds a file in program.

F4: Save

saves the active file with current file name, location and file format.

F5: Replace

searches for and replaces the specified text and formatting.

F6: Spell

starts the spelling-check program in the active document.

F7: Undo

reverses the last command or deletes the last entry you typed or action.

F8: Redo

reverses the action of the Undo command.

F9: Reply

replies to the e-mail in Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express.

F10: Reply All

replies the e-mail to all in Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express.

F11: Forward

forwards the e-mail in Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express.

F12: Send

sends out the e-mail in Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express.

Prt scr/Sys: Print

prints the file in the active window. 

Num lock: €

Euro sign key. Make sure the LED of both "Office Wizard" and "num lock" are on. The € Euro sign only works when both of the Office Wizard and Num Lock are activated.

Note: Microsoft Windows operating systems and applications must support different languages for different countries. It limits the functions of enhanced office keys. So, some enhanced functions are only for target languages usage. The descriptions of the enhanced Office keys' functions are for reference and may not reflect your keyboard exactly. 

Smart Office Keyboard Driver

Use right-click of the mouse on the Smart Office Keyboard Driver icon on the taskbar, a "KeyMaestro" dialogue box will pop up with the following functions.

Click on this command, a customization dialogue box will pop up with following functions. 

1.  Select a HotKey

This function contains the default function of a key. You can click on the "Display Label" to re-define the key functions. When you click it, a Configure Button box will appear.

In the "Button Label" box, type the name of application that the button will launch, or any name that will help you remember the function of the button. This label will appear on screen each time you press the button.

You can see a list of pre-defined functions and set one of it for the button.

Type in the path to an often used application or click the Browse button to select any file on your computer. If you want to attach a web page to the button, just simply type in the website address in the dialogue box.

In many Windows application, there are many hot keys to execute some often used commands. Some of the hot keys are combined with two keys pressed simultaneously, and some are three. It is not easy to press and to remember those hot keys. Now you can define those complicated hot keys you always forgot. Any kind of combination is available. For example,
[Alt] + [F4] = close window,
[Ctrl] + [A] = select all.

You may define the button as a string of texts which needs to be input often. The maximum characters are 500. Taking good advantages of this function can save much your text input time and makes your works more efficient.

2.  Enable Display Label

This command is to show or hide the OSD (On Screen Display). When the OSD is enabled, each time you press any one of the multimedia buttons, its function name (button label) will show on the right-bottom corner on the screen. The default of this function is enabled.

3.  Enable Taskbar Icon

This command is to show or hide the taskbar driver icon. When the function is enabled, you can see a driver icon will show on the right-bottom corner of the screen. If you want to reload it again, you can select Start => Program => Configure to launch it. The default of this function is enabled.

4.  Enable Auto Play

This command is to show or hide the auto play function. When the function is enabled, the Microsoft media play will show on the screen after you press the “Play” key of the multimedia keys. For Winamp user, you can use the multimedia keys to control the Winamp function after you call out the Winamp and disable the Auto play function. The default of this function is enabled.  

Select this command to exit from this driver program, but not to remove (uninstall). After you restart your system, the driver will be loaded again.

If the keyboard is not working properly, see "Troubleshooting" for tips on how to solve your problem.

Troubleshooting

If you are experiencing problems with your keyboard, please check the following:

1. Keyboard does not work properly

2. The Smart Office Keyboard Software does not work properly

3. Add/Remove Smart Office Keyboard Software or Re-install

4. Other software applications can not be installed properly

5. The repeating rate of previous & next key of multimedia function cannot match the speed of CD-ROM driver

6. CD or Multimedia Player can not be launched

7. Multimedia Player can not play VCD title or MPEG file

8. The short cut keys' default functions of Microsoft Windows can not be used

9. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Calendar cannot do action, but the onscreen can show up

10. Sleep key does not work properly

The Sleep function must be enabled in your Windows operating system before you use the Sleep key. The way to enable the Sleep function is to open the Windows Start Menu => Setting => Control Panel => Power Options => Hibernate => "Enable hibernate Support", and click OK to complete enable the Sleep function.

11. The "Log Off" key does not work

If you press the log off key and the log off dialog box does not appear, but just opens the Windows Start Menu, please press the log off key again. The target log off function will confirm the required action.

The Log Off key function must be enabled before you use this function because the default of Log Off function is disabled in Windows 2000. The way to enable the Log Off function is that open the Windows Start Menu and find the "Taskbar & Start Menu" under the "Setting" function. Choose the Taskbar & Start Menu Properties, select Start Menu Settings in Advanced window, choose the "Display Logoff" item and click OK to complete enable the Log Off function.

12. Some enhanced office functions might lose

13. The functions of the enhanced office keys do not match the key's printed name or do not work

14. € The Euro sign doesn't work

The hot key functions of the Smart Office keyboard functions almost do not require software support.  There are only few keys require software application for transferring hot key scan code to WM_API command.
